Just because your bathroom is small doesn't mean it has to be anything short of beautiful!
When designing a small bathroom, simply focus on selecting the right products – you'll have yourself a luxurious and inviting space in no time.
Here at Bathroom & Beyond, we're passionate about helping you to create the bathroom of your dreams, so we've put together this handy guide to help you make the most of your small bathroom.
How to make the most of a small bathroom
1) Wet room
Wet rooms are a popular choice for those with limited bathroom space. With a wet room, you can save space by not including a traditional bath or shower enclosure. You can go for a completely open-plan wet room, or have a walk-in shower that's sectioned off with a walk-in shower door.

Some wet room showers have a shower tray, but others don't – the choice is yours!
One further advantage of wet rooms and walk-in showers is that they are handicap friendly. As such, they are commonly used by those with mobility issues.
2) Concealed cistern
A toilet with a concealed cistern is the perfect solution for those looking to save space in the bathroom.
As the name suggests, a concealed cistern is hidden behind the bathroom wall. This allows the toilet to sit closer to the wall and results in a nice, sleek finish.

For this reason, concealed cisterns are ideal if you're trying to achieve a minimalist aesthetic in the bathroom, as this style of toilet leaves the bathroom looking less cluttered.
3) Lots of light
Light colours tend to make a space feel bigger. Use white and other light colours in your bathroom to create the illusion of space.
A large bathroom mirror can have the same effect. Mirrors reflect light and make rooms look more spacious than they actually are.

Make sure your bathroom is illuminated by a decent light source. Good lighting is the best way to keep your small bathroom from feeling cramped and claustrophobic.
4) Wall-hung basin
Sink pedestals take up floor space, so wall-hung basins are a great choice for smaller bathrooms.

As the name suggests, wall hung basins are affixed to the bathroom wall rather than resting on top of a pedestal or counter top. This frees up a bit of extra storage space under the sink.
